Demolition

It was reported in the Stratford Press, February 7, 2007, that the buildings which were originally Stratford District High Schools (1912-1921), and then Stratford Primary School (1921-1948) are to be demolished in May. (Quoted as Prestige building site). They are situated on the corner opposite the Salvation Army on Fenton Street.

The sad part of this is that the 125th celebration of our school is less than one month later. Pupils who attended the school in those buildings will also be attending our celebration.

If your children are unaware of the significance of these buildings, please take a drive past, perhaps stopping to look.

In Term Two the school will be focusing on the forth-coming 125th celebration as a major study, with the week preceding Queen’s Birthday weekend as our special emphasis.
