Traditions of SPS

During this year, as I have been researching and writing these jottings, I have become very aware of the fact that so many of our Traditional events have simply disappeared. Here are some which I have read about, and can also remember from childhood days at SPS.!

The annual Fancy Dress Ball, for the whole school.

The annual Pet day, with the accompanying show in the school hall of sand-saucers, miniature gardens, vegetable animals etc

Cocoa, in winter, in the school hall.

The Annual Athletic Sport’s day, for schools from all around Stratford. Green House, red House, Blue House, Gold House. Oh, how proudly we marched (yes, marched!) behind our house banner, after practising for weeks to military band music !

The exhibition of local school children’s stories, needlework etc at the A and P Show.
